Double Short: "Do As You're Told"
Director Nicholas Santos tests the manhoods of his leads Charles and Bruce to the limit in his short films ‘Mother Fucker’ and ‘Holiday Fear’. Both are put in the most awkward of positions and asked to cross the ultimate lines by the women in their lives, Charles’ mum and Bruce’s girlfriend, if they want their financial help or respect.
It’s fuck or fucking forget about your dog for Charles who will have to do the unthinkable to get the ransom money required to get his pug back and kill or be killed for Bruce, who must deliver a killing blow to a Santa-suited slasher if he or his lover wants to live to see another Christmas.
So settle in, gird your loins and be prepared to ask yourselves: “Could I?” and “Would I?” as Nicholas Santos’s immaculate, uncomfortable and unforgettable short films ask the tough questions and put their characters through the grinder and into a hard place. Deciding whether or not to just do as you’re told has never been so darkly funny or excruciating.
